F.A.Q

Q: HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL WE RECEIVE?
A: We deliver an average of 50 images per hour of shooting. To save you the math, that makes a minimum of 200 images for an elopement and 400 images for a full day wedding. And we mean minimum! We don’t restrict the image count. If there are 1000 amazing photos that tell a perfect story of your day, then you’ll get 1000 photos. We tend deliver more images than the average wedding photographer, because we’re telling a story. The atmosphere and mood takes more than just a few photos. All images you receive will be edited and sent via an online gallery ready for download to your computer. Each image will be high resolution (5000px on the longest edge) and ready for print.

Q: WHERE DO I FIND YOUR PRICES?
A: We create custom packages for each couple. Contact us via our contact page, and we’ll chat with you about your needs. Prices start at $2,800 for weddings and $1,600 for elopements.

Q: DO YOU TRAVEL OUTSIDE CALIFORNIA FOR WEDDINGS?
A: Oh heck yeah! We love traveling! We’re open to any adventure. Fill out our contact form, and we can chat about all the details.

Q: CAN WE MEET BEFORE BOOKING?
A: Absolutely! In fact, we require that. If you’re local, we’d love to meet up for some coffee in our cute little downtown Redwood City. But don’t let distance sway you. We can meet virtually over Skype or a phone call. Having chemistry with your photographer is the most important thing about your wedding photos.

Q: HOW DO WE BOOK OUR WEDDING DATE WITH YOU?
A: Great wedding photography relies on chemistry and trust between us and our couple. We’re going to spend a lot of important time together, so we require meeting virtually or in person before booking to make sure we click. I promise this is for your protection! We want you to be 100% happy with your choice, and we want to make sure we can deliver to you the product you’re hoping for.

Your day will be officially reserved when you have signed the contract and paid the first installment of 50% of the total wedding package price.

Q: WHEN CAN WE EXPECT TO GET OUR PHOTOS?
A: You can expect your photos approximately 8 weeks after your wedding date depending on the time of year. However, within a few weeks after your wedding you will receive a little sneak peek to share with friends and family.

Editing is a huge part of our craft. And we love editing wedding photos! It gives us a chance to relive your day over and over again while we make sure each image conveys the exact emotion we remember feeling on your wedding day. Because we deliver so many images, this process takes quite a long time.

Q: HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD WE USE ON WEDDING PORTRAITS?
A: We recommend that we put aside a minimum of 1 hour for portraits of you two (excluding transportation time). Your wedding day flashes by, and there are so many people begging for your attention. It’s each to forget what the day is all about… YOU and your love! The photo session is not only necessary to get great photos of you two, but it’s also a quiet time set aside during your day to remember what is most important. It’s a time to focus on being together, remembering why you’re getting married, and of course cuddling and kissing. This romantic and stress-free hour is SO important.

We can schedule your portraits before the ceremony as part of your First Look or after the ceremony. However, we will ask for you to sneak away for 15-20 minutes around sunset. Sunset lighting is the happiest and most golden and beautiful light that God ever created. Plus, it’s another great time for you to smooch away from all the crowds.

Q: DO YOU INCLUDE AN ENGAGEMENT SHOOT?

A: Yes we do! We highly encourage getting your engagements done with us before your wedding. That’s why we include it always at all times. It’s a perfect chance to get to know us, learn how we shoot, and to get comfortable in front of the camera. Think of your engagement shoot as a rehearsal for your wedding day. We’re just exploring a cool location and having fun while toting around a camera. You’ll learn that the photo session isn’t scary. It’s just fun and cuddles. We learn who you are as a couple, how you interact with each other, and what you are comfortable with – we want to capture YOU. And you get to learn all about us and  our shooting ways. Then you won’t be so surprised when we ask you to do a handstand in your wedding dress. 😉 We pinky promise an engagement session is the best. When we get to your wedding day portrait session, you’ll be pros, and you’ll be able to relax. Ultimately this “prep session” is, in our humble opinion, the best way of insuring relaxed, fun, and intimate photos on your wedding day.

Not to mention (but mentioning anyways) that a nice professional photo will look fabulous on your wedding invitation.

Q: WHAT IF MORE COUPLES CONTACT YOU WITH THE SAME WEDDING DATE?
A: We don’t double book days, obviously. And we don’t ever try to schedule a wedding in the morning and another wedding in the evening. That’s crazy madness.  If multiple couples inquire about the same date, we’ll make sure all parties know that it’s a hot date. We’ll encourage meetings with both couples, and basically it’s first come first served. We wish we could accommodate everyone!

Q: HOW MANY PHOTOGRAPHERS WILL BE AT OUR WEDDING?
A: Two! We’re a husband and wife team, and we come as a package! We never shoot weddings alone. In the super unlikely case that one of us fell terribly ill and physically incapable of leaving home, the other would shoot the wedding with an associate photographer of equal or greater talent.

Q: WILL OUR PICTURES BE ON YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA?
A: Yes! We absolutely love sharing your photos and beautiful faces on our Facebook and Instagram. Mostly we share for our moms, but also clients and followers like to stay updates with our latest projects.

Q: WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
A: We shoot with professional Canon DSLRs and several different lenses (35mm, 24-70mm, and 50mm) with various lighting equipment. We each have our own camera on your wedding day, so we’re running around like wild turkeys capturing every moment of your day.

Q: SHOULD WE ORDER PRINTS AND ALBUM THROUGH YOU?
A: You certainly can! We recommend that you order prints and albums through professional labs, but it is not required, and we’re happy to help!
